I am a Professor of Surgery at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Director of Quality and an attending cardiac surgeon with Brown University Health Medical group.
My niche clinical interests are minimally invasive valve and arrythmia surgery, multiarterial coronary artery bypass grafting and high risk cardiac surgery using advanced MCS adjuncts. My academic interests span the area of autonomic neuromodulation for refractory VT, cerebral bloodflow autoregulation and autoimmunity in pathogenesis of coronary artery disease. I was the site PI for many of the pivotal clinical trials, encompassing structural heart therapies, in both aortic and mitral valve space.
I am on the Board of Directors of innovative medical device companies like CoRisma and Rithim Biologics. I have over 150 peer reviewed published manuscripts and abstracts with more than 6000 citations and an H-index of 45. My work has been recognized by numerous speaker invitations, to various national and international meetings. I take pride in the achievements of more than 50 residents and medical students, whom I have mentored thus far, many of whom are faculty in prominent academic institutions in US and abroad.
