    Dr. McDonald is well experienced in thoracic aortic and valvular heart surgery. She has had extensive training in these fields at the Cleveland Clinic. Her current interests include aortic valve sparing operations, aortic aneurysmal work and mitral valve repair. She has been able to develop this practice to a much higher level due to the fact that UVM is the only hospital that performs cardiac surgery in the state of Vermont and also has a large draw from New York. It is the ideal situation for her.
