Dr. Sophia Airhart is an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah and Medical Director of Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Pulmonary Hypertension at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Dr. Airhart received her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, and completed her internal medicine residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo. She completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., and an advanced fellowship in heart failure/transplant cardiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn. She is an Associate Editor and Section Editor for Circulation: Heart Failure. Her clinical and academic interests are focused on hemodynamics in pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure, as well as the use of mechanical assist devices in management of shock.
