    Szymon Wiernek, MD, PhD

    Szymon Wiernek graduated from a two-year Interventional Cardiology training program at the University of California, San Diego, where he received comprehensive training in complex coronary, structural, peripheral, and robotic-assisted interventions. Prior to that, he spent four years at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, training in Cardiovascular Medicine. He has extensive research experience in the field of cardiovascular medicine and earned his PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences.

    Dr. Wiernek currently works at Maine Medical Center, where he serves as Co-Director of the Mitral Center of Excellence and Director of the Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair Program. He practices there as an interventional and structural cardiologist.
